🤓 What We’ve Been Up To
We’re delighted to welcome Daniela Gallardo to our team!
Daniela joins The Engine as part of her scholarly work around justice studies. A two-time Sun Devil, Daniela is now pursuing her Ph.D. in Justice Studies at the School of Social Transformation.
Daniela will be supporting our Women's Power and Influence Index team and collaborating with community and colleagues at ASU's MiX campus, as well as with law students as they conduct research for our New Policing Project.
I am very excited to welcome her to The Engine and can't wait to see how we scale our work for communities with her on our team!
Raj Malik Joins The Engine
A partner at Pixel Perfect Ventures, Raj Malik is the perfect advisor and partner and we are delighted to welcome our newest Difference Engineer to our advisory board!
A lawyer by training, Raj has transformed his career from public service at the Assistant Attorney General's office to the private sector at White & Case LLP and then into a role as a founder and successful dealmaker and venture capitalist.
But perhaps his most notable accomplishment is being the youngest Walmart store greeter in the United States during college 🥳
We are grateful for his commitment to our students and our mission to build practical solutions to inequality nationwide.
Introducing the Senior Innovation Fellows Program!
Is retirement the end of the story?
We'd like to think it is the start of another ADVENTURE! 🚀
That's why The Difference Engine is piloting a new fellowship program for older adults at or near retirement age we're calling the Senior Innovation Fellows (SIF) program.
Imagine being able to learn subjects you've always been interested in, build relationships with globally renowned experts, and support young entrepreneurs and advocates as they build a fair and just society.
It's what the SIF program will be all about ... and you can help BUILD it! Apply to join us as the inaugural Managing Director of the program.
SIF is possible through the generous support and guidance of renowned public policy (and productivity) expert Bob Pozen of MIT Sloan as well as ASU's Office of the President and the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.
The Engine at DataConLA
This summer we presented at DataConLA 2024, talking to data nerds like us about the Women’s Power and Influence Index and what we’re working on for version 2.0.
We’re Hiring!
We're hiring for:
A Program Coordinator who:
Will help us find ways to get things done.
Be a master logistician.
Stitch together The Engine's culture and community.
All while supporting our colleagues at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.
We are also hiring for:
A Managing Director of our new Senior Innovation Fellows program (see above)

Sodexo Renews Board Seat
We’re delighted to welcome Phil Harty from Sodexo for another term on our Executive Board. Both Phil and his team have been instrumental in supporting our students as they build products to reduce inequality and also in advising our team as we scale. We look forward to another two years of collaboration!
